====== Problem: OrangeCD Catalog is unresponsive or running very slow ====== ===== Symptoms ===== When **Norton Antivirus 2009** is installed in the system and Norton Auto-Protect is enabled, OrangeCD Catalog becomes unresponsive or is running very slow. ===== Cause ===== Bug in Norton Antivirus deadlocks OrangeCD Catalog process when it attempts to read from the database. ===== Solution ===== To work around Norton Antivirus bug, folders containing OrangeCD databases must be excluded from Norton Auto-Protect feature. Follow these steps: - Open Norton Antivirus settings - In the **Computer** section, click **Settings** link - In the **Exclusions/Low Risks** section, click **Configure[+]** link - In the bottom (**Auto-Protect Exclusions**) section, click **Add** button - Click folder button and browse to folder containing OrangeCD database file (*.dab).\\ //Note:// Default database folder is "My Documents" > "My Music". - Click **OK** button - Repeat as needed for all folders containing OrangeCD database files. - Click **OK** buttons in all windows until you exit Norton Antivirus settings.
