Currently when you do a search with UPC, it gets the info, but never stores UPC code, but discards it. I have been copying it and adding it to one of the custom fields.
UPC code should have its own field that is populated when you do a search on it.

Hi,
UPC field is not actually discarded. It is stored in the invisible field. You don't have access to this field in the current version, but it will become visible and editable in the future version.

BTW, eBay accepts UPC codes for searches
