Default Naming and Grouping Tracks on an Album

    Andrei,

Many CDs are being released consisting of two albums and often bonus tracks on one CD.
Will it be possible to highlight the individual albums on the album page.
As an example the new Stone Poneys CD consists of two albums and Bonus Tracks.

    How are you adding things?

When I pulled stuff in from Amazon it would do that. But when I scanned the CD drive it kept the actual discs separate. Haven't tried it with adding by UPC or scanning MP3s yet.

I use FreeDB to update my database.

    What do you mean "discs"?

What I am suggesting is for ONE CD containing 2 albums/bonus tracks.

This is exactly what those with classical collections want for works and movements. For example, using Solti's CSO cd of Bartok pieces, this is what I would like to see:

    Concerto for Orchestra, Sz 116
    1. Introduction: Andante non troppo - Allegro vivace 9:06
    2. Il Giuoco della copie: Allegro scherzando 6:11
    3. Elegia: Andante, non troppo 6:33
    4. Intermezzo interrotto: Allegretto 4:03
    5. Finale: Pesante - Presto 9:32
    Dance Suite, Sz 77
    6. Moderato 3:30
    7. Allegro molto 2:12
    8. Allegro vivace 2:43
    9. Molto tranquillo 2:35
    10. Comodo 0:58
    11. Finale: Alleghro 3:54
Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta, Sz 106
    12. Andante tranquillo 6:34
    13. Allego 7:23
    14. Adagio 6:51
    15. Allegro molto 6:35

And I think that is what joebugs is after, too.

Interesting. This would be nice for classical for sure. What if you performed a search for all works by Bartok would it turn up

    Dance Suite - Allegro molto?

    or just

    Allegro molto?

I'd also like to request this feature. My collection, while chiefly rock and pop, includes a number of classical pieces and something like this would be a nice presentation.

In theory it could be done at the theme level, but I think it would require the use of at least one custom checkbox and some javascript support behind it. That's off the top of my head, though. Sharing themes that make use of custom fields doesn't work terribly well because custom fields are not exported with the theme, which is strictly a presentation level customization.
