Default Use as network listening station?

Has anyone used the OrangeCD Database and Player on an Intranet or local (non-web) network? I'd like to catalog all my CD's and vinyl LPs and be able to stream them around the house. I think this would require having a database interface that could display the list of music (in playlist or generic order) and then stream to different workstations. Any suggestions on how to set this up would be great.

I have tried a couple things. First a digital audio output from my computer to my stereo receiver in the living room. This does a good job of filling the house with sound especially if you have pairs of speakers in more than one room. Second, if you create a LAN with multiple computers you can share the MP3 files. So a jukebox on any computer could acess the files and play them locally.
