Default Is updating an unregistered version possible?

Less than a week ago I downloaded OrangeCD, and began using it. The version was 5.0.2, and since then I discovered via this Forum that 5.1.0 was released yesterday. I have not registered yet (but intend to while it is still November).

Today I downloaded the new version from 'the source' (here!), in anticipation of using it ASAP.

Is "ASAP" today, or do I need to wait for a key, or some such to update to the current version?

I thoroughly approve of this program, and do not want to either destroy the (working) version I have or the database created with it, by inappropriately trying to do an update.

if youre not sure, just copy the "*.dab" from where you saved it, and copy everything from c:\program\orange\templates\ into a backup folder...though it should be ok to install over the top...the new versions ask you "do you want to upgrade from version x that we know is on your system"
