Great!
I realize that due to the nature of the ratings field it might be difficult, but is there any way I can move my custom ratings field (which was 0-5 stars with 1/2 star increments) over to...
Hey, Andrei -- any chance of this feature being addressed?
Great job with 6.0 beta 1... it's great to see it move out of the alpha stage!
Huge thank-yous for the database management tools under Tools -> Advanced, too.
One thing, though -- I'd love to...
Andrei had mentioned to me that there may be some sort of functionality in the future to be able to move the content from one field to another. I have a similar desire to move custom field info over...
I see what happened... all my "purchased from" data's actually in "Textbox 2." So it's not lost... just misplaced. :)
Has anyone else noticed with the August 2nd (9202) build that their "purchased from" data is gone? Not only is the drop-down field empty when entering a new album, but the data doesn't seem to show...
Yeah, I've been meaning to give it a shot, just haven't had a chance yet. I'll download it tonight and see how it goes...
Thanks!
Blowers -- Is the artist notes and biography only available in the newest beta version of OCD? In 5.2.0, all I see under Artist Properties is General (which allows me to link mispellings -- thanks!),...
Re: 1 -- very cool. Exactly what I was looking for. Don't know how I missed it.
Re: 2 - I already use the subgenre field... in the past I used the "notes" section of an album, but it doesn't quite...
All have pretty similar features, but for me, Orange CD's interface is far and away the best.
I only use it to catalog hard copies of music, though... no MP3s and no DVDs. (I don't catalog my MP3s...
Two thoughts I had:
1. I'd like the ability to write info about particular artists that aren't tied to a specific album so that no matter what album of theirs I brought up, I could have access to...
You can add your own formats easily enough (I'm at work, so I don't have OrangeCD in front of me at the moment, but it's in one of the customization menus... the same place where you can edit...
Now that I'm content with my music cataloging app, I figured I'd look to fellow OrangeCD users for their suggestions on a book cataloging app... something that approaches OrangeCD in features and...
I actually went out and ordered a Cuecat scanner on ebay... about $12 after shipping (though they used to be free a few years back...)
I guess that makes sense, but it seems so arbitrary that the FreeDB would do things that way... the nine base categories are so... unhelpful. :) I've just been putting everything under "misc."
BTW...
I've had my music collection online for quite a while... when I used to use CDStore, a friend wrote a quick-and-dirty app that created genre-based static HTML pages for my collection (you can see it...
I was thinking that it could be used for "Regular, Compilations, Soundtracks" or something like that... not sure what else one would include, though.
It seems to me that the "category" field (though a standard in the freedb, I assume) is kind of pointless and I don't make much use of it. It seems like a stripped-down version of the "genre"...
Honestly, I could care less about playlist management and most of the MP3 functionality... I'm much more concerned with the catalogging aspect rather than the jukebox/playback aspect of it. :) I can...
Yeah, CDStore/VideoStore etc. definitely had the "old" interface... they wouldn't fly today. But at the time, they were a vast improvement over what most Win 3.1 programs looked like. :)
Just for information's sake, I'd like to see a list of differences between the two since I haven't been to look at them all that in-depth...
Catraxx looked to have good features, but I wasn't a fan of the interface. Music Label also looks quite good and the developer there is friendly as well.
Out of curiosity, had anyone else here...
There are a few additional fields I'd love to see added (rather than using them for "custom" fields): purchase date, purchase location, condition, and rating (which I've seen mentioned elsewhere -- I...
Hi all...
I've been searching for a long time for the "perfect" music database program. One that handles CDs, cassettes, LPs, and other formats easily. I used to use John Lullie's excellent CD...
