CD info download when scanning UPC

I'm using a CCD-Scanner (noname-product, but cheap) to scan the barcode. It works perfectly well, but as it always downloads CD info from Amazon, I do not get any track information. When I scan the CD in the CD-ROM drive, the info is downloaded from FREEDB.org and I have complete track information.
Can I somehow
a) either define where my barcode-scanned CD downloads its info from
b) or first barcode-scan the CD and then additionally download info from FREEDB later to have the tracks?
