........Even after I add items to my database, the recent additions will reflect the same five items from a couple of weeks ago. When checking the artists folder, the item has been added, it does not show up as a recent addition.
Any ideas as to why this is?

Sounds weird. Could there be a problem with the clock on your PC? Check the Record Properties | Personal tab | Date added field for the five entries that appear under 'Recent additions' and compare with the same field for your most recent additions.
You were right on! Somehow my PC clock has had the wrong date on it, so I changed the "dates added" and it all works perfectly now. Thanks alot, I appreciate it.
