Sorting by Reference

How can I sort by Reference?

Also, what's the best way to find out how many CDs I have in total in the database?

First, switch album list to Table view (right-click - Table).
Then, if the Reference# column is displayed in a header, then simply click on this header to sort by this field. Otherwise, you need to add this column to the table (right-click - Columns - put a checkmark next to Reference# - OK).
