I am listening to Shine on you crazy diamond parts 1 and 2 by Pink Floyd and it clocks in at 17 minutes and 32 seconds.I think this is the longest song in my collection by far. What is the longest song in your music collection?

    Hi,

I've just noticed this thread, and thought I'd chuck in my two-penneth. Of the CD's I've catalogued so far, here's my longest individual tracks:

    "Sadalmelik" by Moljekba Pvlse: 72:16
    "Leviathan" by Legion: 71:59
"Envoi In Cumin" by Arcane Device: 71:33
"Soundpooling #3" by Nurse With Wound: 66:42

I also have "Holy Of Holies" by Nocturnal Emissions, a four hour DAT tape. As I never got a DAT player, I cannot verify whether it is one long track (as listed on Discogs), or shorter tracks as on the 4xCDr reissue... The mystery is no doubt far more enticing than the reality could ever hope to be!

Robert Rich-Somnium....6.5 hours long. Probably one of the longest, if not the longest songs ever released on a physical format.

pmckeealaska - I just added Rich's Somnium DVD to my ambient collection and remembered this thread. Came here to post it and was amazed to see you had me beat by one day!

The ultimate trump card would be if Eno is secretly archiving the sound of The Clock of the Long Now. It ticks once a year, bongs once a century, and the cuckoo comes out every millennium for the next 10,000 years.
