    Default reissues and information duplication

Was wondering if anyone else had a use for this idea...

beggars banquet (as well as many other labels) have re-released a lot of albums recently. Being the completionist that I am, of couse I have to have both copies. The re-issue will typically have all of the original tracks in the original order but will have a few extras tacked on to the end.

Since data entry is my least favourite part of the cataloguing process, I was wondering if it is possible to have an option to duplicate -and- modify the duplication, ie add extra tracks and so forth. I found and have used the "duplicate" option which is already implemented in 4.3 which eliminates a lot of typing, but it does not seem to allow me to add any extra tracks.

    Thanks,

    /gecko

    Hi Gecko,

you can save time using Copy Entry and Paste Entry menu commands (new for 4.3.0 release). They were added specially to transfer data between entries. So, the whole process would be approximately like this:

    1) Create a new entry for the reissue (using Scan CD menu command)
    2) Select old release in tree and click Copy Entry.
    3) Select reissue in tree and click Paste Entry.

    Voila.

    Regards,
    Andrei
