Musicians with Different Instruments

As OCD now works I cannot easily note what instrument a multi-instrument musician plays on a particular track. For example, Miles Davis plays piano on one track (I Know) on Sonny Rollins first album as a leader, and only on one track. This track is included in both Rollins and Davis' complete Prestige packages. Of course, Davis plays trumpet on all the other tracks on these collections. My choices are

1) have Miles Davis appear as Miles Davis (trumpet, piano) on all tracks, which is not right or

2) have two entries for Miles Davis
Miles Davis (trumpet)
.
.
.
Miles Davis (piano)

as if it were two different musicians. I have not even been able to get the two entries together in the musicians list without a lot of bother

Instead it should be:

Miles Davis (trumpet) CD1:5,6,8; (piano) CD1: 7

This would also be useful for sorting out which tracks Coltrane plays tenor and which ones soprano saxophone, along with lots of other multi-instrument musicians.
