Sorting/Grouping Artists

Hi,

I have several CD's by Dave Brubeck et al. In the Artists (no tracks) view, I would like to organize all of them under Brubeck, Dave. For the CD's that have Dave Brubeck as the artist, I use Sort Name to accomplish this. However, if I try to do this when The Dave Brubeck Quartert is the artist, I receive the following message:

"'Brubeck, Dave' is a spelling of another artist. Do you want to add it to 'Dave Brubeck Quartet, The' instead?"

I have also run into the same problem with several other artists.

Any suggestions as to how to fix this would be appreciated.

Hi Gaijin,

To fix this, right-click "Dave Brubeck" and select Artist Profile. Add "The Dave Brubeck Quartert" in the Other Spellings box. Press OK.

The idea is that you want Dave Brubeck to be primary ID of the artist, not The Dave Brubeck Quartet.

Does it fix the problem?
