It works as such but you have to bear in mind that only includes CDs where there is only one composer. For example, according to composer statistics, I have 85 Mozart CDs, but if I browse by composer in the left panel and click Mozart, I have 102 Mozart CDs, because this includes CDs featuring more than one composer.
