Need Windows Media?

I'm not understanding three things:
I want to use OrangeCD exclusively for CD's, but Windows Media pops up any time I click a selection...single or full CD.
How do I shut Down Windows Media? and
If I delete something from the catalog, will it delete the music from my drive as well?
If that IS the case, how can I remove items from the catalog?
Lastly, once I start a CD with OCD, when I close the program the CD keeps playing. Is that expected?
This is a pretty cool program, so I hope I can get these couple things fixed...
