beta build 6.0.0.10229 installation

"To install the beta, download and launch executable, then follow setup program directions." are all the instructions get on the web page
Can someone outline to me
a) what I should back up before installing
b) does it install in the same folder as my current version my installed build 5.2.0.7523, released March 23, 2004.?
b) or as a "loyal customer"should I download and install
Build 9508

To be 100% safe, you could simply back up your entire OCD data and program folders (whereever they may be located).
To be more specific:
OCD creates a .DAB file for each music collection you create. In addition the application will create a sub folder named <music collection name>_covers, where you'll find all your covers. This folder is only created if you configure OCD to store your covers externally.
And finally OCD creates a backup folder, which contains a backup of your .DAB file(s). The backup files have a .BAK extension in OCD 5.x.
If you have downloaded or modified themes and/or templates, it's probably wise to backup the Template folder in your OCD program folder (normally C:\program files\OrangeCD\templates)

Why in the world would you want to install build 9508  ? That's a Pre-Beta release. Forget about that.
My advice would be: Either stick with the 5.x version you already have. Or get the latest beta (currently beta 3). Or run OCD 5 and OCD 6 at the same time - but on on separate machines.

Making a back up cd of all My install programs - however seem to have lost ver. 6 on My system, therefor looking to redown it so can save it.
